Star Fox – Mercenary Pilots
Airborne
Heat and smoke began filling the cockpit of the downed fighter. Pain was shooting through his right leg as the young pilot forced himself to sit up. He punched the release for the canopy.
It didn’t open.
Once again he tried the release to receive the same results. Next he reached down for the emergency eject lever. It was hot to the touch, but he gritted his teeth and ignored the pain as he pulled it back.
Still nothing.
The smoke was getting too thick to see and even harder to breath. Not wasting any more time, the pilot grabs the blaster pistol from his hip and smashed the butt of it on the canopy window. Though a crack was formed by the action, it wasn’t enough and would take far too long to bust through at that speed.
Instead he aimed for the crack on the canopy and fired the blaster. The canopy shattered open sending shards flying away from the crash site.
The heat was becoming as unbearable as the pain as the pilot dragged himself through the hole and out of the wrecked fighter as fast as he could, a trail of fresh blood from his leg followed.
He was only on the ground briefly before something sent him spinning skyward. Was it and explosion? His ears were ringing too hardly to tell.
The Sky looked so beautiful….
Then there was only black.

Started Work on my Star Fox Project. It's a fan novelization of the Star Fox Franchise, though with some changes based on how I interpret the story. Airborne Acts as a Origin Story for the Star Fox Team from the games.
I plan on going onto other stories in this universe as well, establishing a Original Team Storyline, A storyline focusing on Katt and/or Bill, and stories based on things that happen outside the realm of the games.
However this is a Side Project designed only as a distraction when I'm not working on WfM and OLW, so it may update a lot at first and then maybe not often at all (not like that has stopped any of my other projects....).
I plan on going onto other stories in this universe as well, establishing a Original Team Storyline, A storyline focusing on Katt and/or Bill, and stories based on things that happen outside the realm of the games.
