H0BB13’s 19th Report.  Snively Robotnik discovered H0BB13’s Golden Mobius.  H0BB13 worried that reprogramming is needed, however Snively Robotnik chose to ignore the flower.  Though Snively Robotnik scolded H0BB13 for leaving post.  Refered to H0BB13 as “you”.  Curious.

H0BB13’s 20th Report.  H0BB13 decided to refer to self as “I”.  Snively Robotnik has left Disposal Facility, so I decided to return to service of Golden Mobius.

H0BB13’s 24th Report.  Taking care of the flower seems to have a “relaxing” effect on Me.  Makes time seem to flow quicker.  Makes Me more efficient in other tasks as well.  I now have noticed more efficient ways to “patrol” from Post to Golden Mobius with less risk of getting in trouble.  
Decided to Report Golden Mobius to Unit H-zero-B-B-zero-eight.  H0BB08 shows desire to also examine Golden Mobius.

[End of Review.]

Johnny Lightfoot looks up from NICOLE’s screen and at the mess of metal that had once been SWATbot Unit H0BB13.  The Debris that Pierced into the Mechanical Man’s back had then Melted due to the heat of the explosion.  Its limbs twisted in what would shatter bones of any being that would have been made of flesh and blood.  
Beneath the SWATbot, undamaged and still growing was the Golden Mobius Flower.  The Blossuming Bud wraps a bit around the remains of the robot, almost as if it was hugging him.  
The Mobian Rabbit gently nudges the robot with the end of his Bo staff, causing the Machine to fall over on its side, lifelessly.  
“Curious,” NICOLE announces, “The SWATbot remained behind to protect the Flower, even to the point of disobeying orders.”
Johnny kneels down by the flower, “We can’t leave them here.”
“Them?” NICOLE asks puzzled.
“Both of them, the Flower and the machine.”
The Mobian taking up a piece of bowl shaped debris digs out the flower.
“May I inquire the reason?” NICOLE investigates.
“This Flower Grew out of Robotnik’s Garbage, just like how we must grow out of his garbage,” Johnny explains.
The Artificial Intelligence ponders this answer for a moment before asking, “And what about the Robot?”
“The Flower only survived due to his actions,” The Rabbit concludes, “We need a reminder that even something as cruel and evil as Robotnik can make something beautiful.  No matter how dark, no matter how bleak, no matter how bad the future looks….”
Johnny brushes a tear from his eye, “Life finds a way to shine through and grow.”

“Sir Charles, it appears that Overlander Forces and the Mobian Underground have landed on the island.”
“This was unforeseen…I don’t know what to tell you.”
“Haven’t they found the Chaos Emeralds yet?”
“They found the missing one….but not without great sacrifice.”

Robotnik’s forces stand proudly in the storm, unmoving and silent.  Both the Mobian and Overlander forces fidget uncomfortably beneath the pouring rain.
The Commandos of Paladin Team check their weapons.  They may be the smallest force here, but they were also the most dangerous.  The best of the elite forces.

Chapter 22
Sonic can’t wrap his mind around what he’s seeing.  One moment things were bad: Johnny died, no word from Rotor and his team, and the supposed location of the emeralds in Robotnik’s base appeared to be false.
He, Sally, and Tails had found the blasted container where the Emeralds were supposedly left, empty.  That’s when the bad news came in.
Fiona contacted them for help.  Apparently the tower she and Ben were hiding at had fallen under attack.  The message was cut off before more details could be obtained.
As expected, Sonic had quickly volunteered to go check it out, determined not to lose anyone else, only to have Knuckles arrive with even worse news: Robotnik was on his way back to Angel Island.  The Guardian insisted that they gather everyone and find the Emeralds before Robotnik had a chance to destroy the Island.

Chapter 21
Lightning flashes brightly, illuminating the skies above briefly before it fades dark again.  The wind and the rain beat down among the plant life as small creatures scurry about for shelter.  Waves crash against the shoreline, washing away anything not quick enough to escape their grasp.  
Knuckles the Echidna watches the storm assault his beloved island.  Angel Island has faced many storms as it traveled through the skies above Mobius.  The plants and animals have become used to the sudden changes of weather, climate, and location.
And yet without the Master Emerald, life one the island, now floating amongst the waves, seemed to be decaying.
The guardian lets the cold rain trickle down his long red dreadlocks and his face.  It is only a minor annoyance before what is to come…
Rain and wind batter futilely against the giant flying battle station as it flies through the air.
It does nothing to faze the crew inside.

Chapter 19
The tree branch breaks away from the large tree as the blue hedgehog slams into it.  He falls and crashes into the ground by the roots, the air knocked from his body.
Sonic hurts all over.  His gloves are torn and one of his knuckles is turning an ugly purple color.  Speaking of Knuckles, the red echidna is thrown overhead smashing into another nearby tree, leaving a large crack on it.  As he falls to the ground, Sonic manages to push himself to his feet.
His head spins with dizziness.  He tries to shake it out of his head, but to no avail.  Turning, he looks back towards the guardian who lays motionless on the forest floor.
This isn’t going to work.  Neither Sonic nor Knuckles are still up for this fight.  And the blasted copycat of a Robot just seems to keep coming.  Sonic wipes a trickle of blood from his cracked lip.  
Mecha slowly marches over to the organic hedgehog, as if he was savoring his pain,

Chapter 20
When they had landed, the skies had been sunny and clear.  Now the increasing speed of the wind, the black clouds growing overhead, and the chill that fills the air, Rotor knew this trip to the beach wasn’t going to be the highlight of the trip.
The walrus adjust the yellow cap on his head and looks towards his team.  Antoine nervously nibbles on what little fingernails he has left while Bunnie does a last minute check over her mechanical limbs.  
It’s kind of funny; Rotor thinks to himself, that the three of them usually ended teamed up on a job.  Sure he’d done missions with Sal and Sonic, but this groups seemed to be his group, the one that always stayed the same.  
“You ever notice we’re usually teamed up together?” he asks the others.
The coyote and the rabbit look at each other and then back at Rotor.
“Now that you are mentioning it…” Antoine ponders.
“Yeah,” Bunni

Chapter 18
They found Ben slumped in an old office chair in the communications tower.  There was a nasty gash in his shoulder.  He was lucky to survive whatever he had encountered.
In his hand, he held a very large ax.  It had taken Johnny quite some time to pry his fingers off it.
Currently Fiona works quickly to bandage up the wound.
“Same shoulder,” she grumbles, “Every single time you get hurt, Ben, it is the same shoulder.”
“Is going to be alright then?” Bunnie asks.
“I can’t make any promises,” the red fox answers, “I just don’t have the proper equipment on hand to fix him up now.  All I can do is bandage him up to avoid bleeding and infection until we leave this dump.”
“Do what you can,” Rotor replies.
“What do you think I’m doing?” she snaps back, “And even that might not be enough.”

“This place is complete devoid of tech,” Sonic grumbles, “Ol’Buttnik wouldn’t be caught dead here.”
“Believe what you want to, Hedgehog,” Knuckles rolls his eyes, “The ‘tech’ is underneath the temple.”
“Is this temple dedicated to the Chaos Emeralds?” Sally changes the subject.
“Yes,” the echidna nods his head, “One of them was even rumored to be stored within many years ago.”
“Is it still there?” Sally asks.
Knuckles shakes his head, “No.  The temple was torn apart by looters trying to find it.  They never did.”
Sonic rubs his finger under his nose, “How about the other five?”
“Six,” the princess corrects.
“Sure,” the hedgehog shrugs it off, “Other Six.”
“Robotnik has them,” Knuckles admits.
“What!?” both Sonic and Sally respond with at shout.

The fire flickers lightly between the two figures seated on either side of it.  The campsite itself has been set up in front of the large wreck of metal and machine that had torn up much of the landscape when it dropped from the sky.  There wasn’t much to the camp.  Some tarps used for bedding and blankets that was likely originally intended to be camouflage for the traveler’s vehicle, and small campfire with a circular wall of small stones gathered around it, and a few tripwires connected to shrapnel from the wreck set up as makeshift to act as an alarm or warning system.
Simple, yet effective….if they were dealing with anyone else.
